Here in the1951 episode "Jerry's Cousin" we see Muscles Mouse. This film was nomnated for an Academy Award but was beaten out by "Gerald McBoing Boing", a UPA production. UPA used much simpler and stylized characters in their animation (cheaper too) and this was to have an influence on later Tom and Jerry features. |

In 1956's "Pecos Pest" we meet Jerry's uncle Pecos, who keeps restringing his guitar with Tom's whiskers. George "Shug" Fisher does the guitar playing for the song "Froggie Went A-Courtin'". While not one of my favorites this cartoon has got to be the most asked about when I read my email. |
